Summer Storm July 11, 2011

Monday morning July 11 a storm came through with 75-80 mph winds and blew two trees over from the apartments behind us.

They took out 3 panels of the Stockade Fence. The whole North East area Of Illinios had trees and power lines down.

We were without electricity for a little less than 24 hours. We were the lucky ones. Some people were without electricity for 5 days.

Winter Blizzard 2011

20 Inches officially logged at O'Hare, just 3 inches short of the record 23 inches in 1967 (the record). I was 9 years old in 67 and remember it very well. This blizzrd was very similar to "67".

It started Snowing about 3pm Tuesday afternoon 1 Feb. It was blizzard like about 6pm Tuesday evening with near horizontal snow. Snow was falling about 2-3 inches an hour. When I got up Wednesday morning it was still blowing and blizzarding outside. It finally started letting up about 9am Wednesday morning and pretty much quite all together by noon. then we started

digging out. We remained snowed in until Thursday about noon when the City finally made it down our street and plowed it.

I finally put up a fence across the rear property line this year, should have done it years ago. I really redefined the yard. It's across the whole property, 175ft plus an additional 25ft on the

south end, so it's a total of 200ft long. This was the year we had Brian and Ashley's wedding party and did a pig.
